I'm looking at HT receivers and saw the Denon 1912 being blown out at good prices, some one told me Denon has been having issues with receivers, I was just curious if any one else experienced problems with Denon or knows if this is true or not. I've also looked at Onkyo and Marantz.
Follow Ups:
I've had three Denon AVRs over the years with no problems at all: AVR-3300, AVR-987, and my current AVR-4311ci.
Tubes and vinyl are preferred.
Cheers, Jeff
One has operated trouble free but it's in the living room and only gets light use. The one in the media room has been in the shop as I had to reset the microprocessor to get sound every time we had one of those 1/10 second power outages. They replaced the Power Bored I think. Next outage, same thing happened so it's going back in. Also, the Blue Ray input wouldn't pass sound or video after a couple of months. That's fixed, no more issues with that.FWIW, I never had any issues with Onkyos in the 6+ years I owned them.

Thanks for the input so far. The Onkyo nr515 won't be much more and looks like a good option.
take a look at the onkyo sr 805 on ebay 7.1 hdmi.130 watts over 50 lbs. I dont own any thing new so I cant help on reliability. I do like the onkyos better than the denon. I have the 10 channel denon but its not very user friendly. my firt onkyo was the 696 voted as best of the year.very user friendly the remote is big an easy to use. denon uses a touch screen remote I dont like it as well as the onkyos remotes
dts-cds dvd-audio &mch sacds & blu-ray concerts & speaker amp sound system tweaks rule
its only 22 lbs.go with the heavyest model. I have those 3 brands from 2005 all work well. even the 5.1 onkyo weighs more than that new 7.1 denon.Id try to find one with hi current amp tecnology. if you want hdmi 7.1 I would find one that weighs 35lbs to 40lbs my 6.1 onkyo weighs 35lbs.I saw a newer denon amp on ebay with close to 50lb for weight. thats rare I think it was a misprint in the specs. I like looking at amp wts for better sound. well good luck
