Use a DAC with a volume control? ie. Matrix Mini-i
Use a Blu-Ray player that contains a preamp? ie. Oppo 103
Use a A/V Receiver or Integrated with optical input? ie. Yamaha A-S801
Not sure what you mean by "cheap" exactly. Do you mean $20 cheap or $500 cheap?
