There was a lot of personal stress between the crew members which was punctuated with the story of Rocket. Touching, to a point and it took up about 30% of the film.

Sit through all the credits for one final, tiny Easter Egg.

A few of the reviews I've read say that far too much time is spent on CGI raccoon torture that wasn't necessary to get the backstory told. An audio based review I heard yesterday referred to some audience reaction to this film that indicates "superhero" fatigue may be setting in . . . And yet the RT audience rating is 95%. vs reviewer rating of 81%. I've been a mildly enthusiastic fan of GOTG 1&2. From what I've read and heard so far, I'm less enthusiastic about this one and am inclined to take a pass on it. We'll see.

for a possible Rocket-led Guardians The first time I saw Guardians I thought I wouldn't mind seeing a Rocket feature. This came close.

It was super quirky, often just farcical. I kind of liked the Rocket backstory but without showing the backstory of Rocket meeting Groot, what was the point? They overdeveloped Rocket and underdeveloped Groot in GotG3. And I also thought Drax, Gamora, Nebula and the empath were mostly dead weight. Why even include Gamora if she's going to remain hostile to Quill? They milked that awkward humor to the point where it was stale going in.
