 Lead roles for old actors aren't common. So I hope the excellent cast was paid well to appear in this piece of trivial, unoriginal, witless trash.

Think of the wonderful performances each of the leads has given in better material:
Helen Mirren
Ben Kingsley
Pierce Brosnan
Jonathan Pryce
Celia Imrie

 hung in there for another 25.

VERY sad - looking forward to something much
better, we would have been satisfied with something
half decent and they couldn't even achieve that.

Amblin Entertainment was the initial red flag AND nail in coffin.

 this MI5 series has some very good dialogue that is believable and witty and the side stories are even well done and contribute to the entertainment value.

Oldman is the highlight here. He is in rare form and pretty entertaining.

 While we're on the subject of geriatric actors.

That aspect of the actors is pretty much irrelevant to their talents and, likely, choices.

At least I hope so - NONE of the TMC can possibly be that desperate for work
even if most of them are Brit actors with their incredible work ethic.

I'm going to blame their managers and agents, no matter THEIR age.

And of course the creators whose lack of effort ends up with pap that's
little more than factory type filler content.
