I had already thought it was done. I doubt it has anything to do with the format war.

I posted about this a long time ago.

Stringer have been very nice towards Toshiba for a long time, and this deal have everything to do with HD DVD/Blu ray.

Basicly, SONY let Toshiba take a share in the PS3 blu ray sucess.

The news are comming on a dense packed pipeline in these few days

I do not believe that such timing just "happens".

I had heard it was going to happen, and just assumed happened and didn't think too much about it.

Well, considering that Toshiba co-developed the cell processor, they already were making money off the PS3, even when it was sold at a loss.
