What do you use/recommend as the "best" video playing software for a PC? I'd like to replace Windows Media Player.

I have been happy with VLC Media Player. You can download it free from File Hippo.


Tubes and vinyl are preferred.

DivX -- free download below

Plays everything that WMP does and more as well as HD video.

Thanks for the reply.

I did try VLC a couple of weeks ago. The picture quality didn't seem as good as WMP tho' maybe I didn't give it a fair shake.
