Has anyone here figured out a way to increase the volume of the optical output coming from a TV, going into your dac/preamp. So to make it more equal to the other sources.
I have tried most of those little converters from Amazon that claim to have adjustable volume, but all they do is attenuate what is coming from the TV, not increasing it.
I even had a expensive preamp a few years ago that could adjust for the difference in sources, but still didn't work too well.
Just a pita to have to remember to lower the volume when going from TV to another source.

It appears that you can adjust default volume level of the various digital inputs and the AUX input on your Rotel preamplifier. See page 14 of the Rotel RC-1572MKII manual, FIXED GAIN.

I don't know if this will address your issue.

I no longer have that preamp, and it was in a different system.

Sonys have a volume for the digital out and it is half usually. Maybe samsung has a volume option in the menu too.

I don't think so, but I will look again.

Looking at your tv manual, you might want to try setting the digital out to Pass Through just to make sure no processing is messing up volume levels. Also check the auto volume option. Maybe do a sound reset if that all fails.
