"Sorcereer"

How is the remake? I'm so leery of remakes of great classics. If a film is a work of art like this one, it almost doesn't make sense to try to do it again.

The two I'm thinking about that were so terrible compared to the original were

1) Scent of a Woman with Al Pacino. The original Italian film is a must see.

2) I can't think of the name but it was about a bad guy getting back from prison and threatening a prosecuting lawyer (and his family particularly his daughter) who convicted him who convicted him. This took place in a southern town and there were some boat scenes.

The original had the most sinister actor in movie history. He exuded evil. The remake had a famous actor who tried to act scary: a big difference.

There is a natural originality that makes for one of these great classics. They stumble upon so type of energy. I haven't seen a remake do this.
