... is the all time greatest because it made the point that corporate greed defines the life cycle of humans it uses.

For me "Alien" established an atmosphere, (or literally lack of it in space) creating a new benchmark in tone that has yet to be surpassed.

Just the opposite of the glamorously Technicolor "Forbidden Planet".
