The ASR measurements don't mean much when it comes to DAC's. Rob Watts of Chord makes a LOT of measurements ASR can't even hope to make. The custom filtering that Chord uses are in large part due to he measurements he makes with the extra taps.
Chord reckons that it takes 1 Million taps to re-create a 44.1 KHz. signal. This is a major reason Chord DAC's are considered among the best at any price. The filtering allows the digital signal to closer approximate a analog music signal.
