Clean the hub felt pad, sometimes the hub that spins the disk gets dirty and the disk will slip causing the unit to malfunction as if the pickup assembly is bad. In fact mine had this problem and the service repairman replaced the whole pickup assembly but the unit still had this problem so I opened up the unit and found debris on the felt pad of the hub, after a quick cleaning the problem was fixed. Then I sent the unit back to the shop to get the old pickup assembly put back in and my money back, shortly after the service tech called me back and told me the unit was DOA and it looked like every board was bad, and was un fixable. So now I have a S7700 in my closet that wont power up. If anyone wants it for parts I', sure the mechanical parts are still good. Ill sell the thing for parts maybe say $40 plus shipping. I wont even go into the fight I had with the service tech.
