Unless you are using all full range speakers, you'll also need outboard bass management. I'm using a Sony DVP650 to Outlaw ICBM to Sony TAP9000...as you suggested. Sounds fine to me, but this was an upgrade to have DD/DTS decoding without replacing my old prologic preamp/processor. The other thing you lose is speaker distance timing adjustment, if that's important. Do you buy a new processor with DTS now only for it to become obsolete in 12 to 18 months when the Hi-Rez digital outputs become availible? I think I"ll wait.
