Looks like production of s-VHS recorders has now ceased by all companies

I purchased some JVC S-VHS recorders earlier this year but have been informed that now JVC, the last company supplying them, have also stopped production. So, if you are keen on this medium then you had better snap up any remaining stock as there will be no more.
The trend appears to be towards both hard drive and DVD recorders. It will be interesting to see what evolves, particularly re copyright. I see some unpleasant battles ahead with the option of time shift under threat.
