The main reason I'm interested in the Philips is it is the only player with the new Sage-Faroudja chip that does PAL>NTSC conversion for my European DVDs. (It is also PALp capable.) As I understand it, the Denons can be hacked to be region free, but do not convert. My display is not PAL capable, so I have hopes for the 963SA. Otherwise I'm doomed to the Malata or a JVC :-(Note: anyone trying this player be SURE to turn the Truelife feature to "0".
