Be nice guys, OK kick my b%$^'s in.

I notice a lot of less than friendly comments about Sony. I am not a Sony fan but am stuck with some at this time. Can someone explain my problem or confusion here. First the story....
I have a SONY SCD-CE775 SACD player that has been modified and am pleased with, now here is the problem. I really do not have anything against BestBuy sales people but they do not seem (some of them) very well educated on the items they are selling. Due to a temporary move I wanted a low cost 5.1 receiver that I could play my SACD through. I saw an optical out on my SACD and purchased a STR-DE595 which has an optical SACD/CD input. After much fussing and frustration I read in small print in the manual this optical option is not available on this model, so back I went to return the unit for on that has this enabled. In the meantime a salesman gets into the conversation and claims none of the Sony products will work with the optical in. After much debate I left with an STR-DE895. This will recoginize some SACD's and when set to auto/2 input switches to optical input which appears to work fine but not on all disks. After seeing all the negative feelings on Sony what could I have purchased in the same price range (around $375.00)that would have been better. I might still be able to return it for something else.
