New DVD Players- Layer Change

TVs, VCRs, DVD players, Home Theater systems and more.

I have a Toshiba 2108 DVD player. Layer Changes during movies are quite annoying...
Is this layer change appparent on newer DVD Players?
I am quite interested in the Sony DVP-NS725P player.
Progressive scan and pristine picture is what I am after..
(in adition to eliminating that darn pause at the layer change)
DVD-A/SACD- Neither of these is a concern to me. I feel that both formats are doomed to at best be a fringe media or worst complete failure.
