Hi: You have noticed that used equipment is usually sold for a big reduction over new. So there are lots of choices. I would look for a Rotel, NAD, B&K or other reciever or seperates. Finding a high quality DVD player will be a bit more of a challenge as people tend to hang on to them & thus there is more demand on the used market IMO. The high end Japanese products are also a good bet. The main thing is get the best DVD player you can find, then the best reciever.
