Re: new or used a/v receiver or dvd player

I would suggest thinking about doing what I did.

I bought a brand new Toshiba DVD/ DVD Audio player, for less than $ 240.00.

Using the analog out, I split the signal up. L and R front to a Mac c28, subwoofer to an Akai amp, center and rear to an aditional amp.

I was able to utilize vintage stuff just sitting around.

Movies are in Dolby Digital , DVD Audio in 6 channel, and everything sounds great.

I set the volume on the C 28, than bring up the center and rear via remote from the listening position.
