Re: Recommended LD player

I would look for a Pioneer CLD-79. I bought one of these during the end of the LD era to have as a backup in case my LDS-2 ever bit the dust. While build quality is NOWHERE NEAR the LDS-2, I was amazed to find that the new player had better picture and better sound, And s you can play CDs in a separate drawer with the video circuitry disabled and the sound is akin to a high end CD player. Plus you get second side play, which of course the LDS-2 doesn't have.

So I never thought it could happen but the LDS-2 is now my backup!
