I bought a CLD 79 new, and proceeded to collect a lot of LD's.
It acted up several times, and I was able to get Pioneer to replace it under warranty.

When DVD came out, I bought the DVL91, I think the last of their great DVD/LD combo players. It too acted up (DVD's would go in, but not come out, disabling both trays). Again, I got Pioneer to replace it after the 2nd occurance.

I've been using the CLD 79 for audio in a cheap living room system, and no problems. I'm thinking about finding another DVL91 for backup.
