In my experience any screen placement should be with the center of the screen even with the average listener's head. Otherwise fatigue is a problem with extended watching.Take a look at Magnepan's newer inexpensive models and check out ownwer's comment in the planar asylum. Maggies have a consistently natural sound ans are extremely non-fatiguing. I have two systems using larger Maggie models and would never go back to "box" speakers. The smaller Maggies are in your budget restraints.
