Yes, all you'll need to get full Dolby Digital is a receiver that's DD-ready. However, you may not want to go that route even though some really killer deals can be found. Does your DVD player decode DTS? If it doesn't, then you're out of luck for DTS until you get a new receiver. All but the cheapest receivers have DD (and usually DTS) decoding. Those start at under $300 if you look around. I would save yourself the trouble and get a DD/DTS receiver.
