How is this any cheaper than HD? $199 for 1080i at Christmas?

The disc may be slightly cheaper but production of the disc is not the major part of the $19 you pay for the HD disc. No mention of audio formats licensed to it, either. Now if you could get the HD out of your current DVD player, which the article implies, THAT WOULD be a clear winner.
