Pointing Laser pointer at the TV screen any DANGER ?

I need advice.

I am learning a language which appears as sub-tiles.

When the meaning of the word is not known to point I would like to point at it ans ask my wife what it means.

Now, before I proceed to point the Laser pointer which is RED in color at the Plasma TV screen, I like to clear with those who are technically knowledgeable as to wether such an action will dangerous and spoil the plasma TV over time and if it is possible what is the maximum time duration I can point at the word before I switch off the pointer.
