RE: should be pleased

okay, I wanted to come back and post my experiences with this receiver so far and tell you about the speakers we put in also. Please note this is NOT in my home so I've personally gotten very little time in with it.

ONCE I learned which buttons on the front of the receiver get you into which part of the setup, I found this to be the easiest way to get in there and get things going on. Great little receiver for a modest or mid-sized home theater. Got it for about $549.00.

Moving on:

This friend was on a budget and I really though he was going to max out under $1000.00 for this project. I'm really glad he trusted me and let me make some decisions for him. I honestly think his turning point was when I told him what just my AVR-5700 cost when it was brand new. His total: system wires, speakers & everything should cost about half of just that one piece's MSRP.

SPEAKERS: Sub & 5 chanel
For this I had to find something that was a THIB in size due to his living room, but would have to shoot myself if it came out sounding that way. I REALLY believe "Small Speakers... small sound".

I personally have not had to buy any gear in many years and what I have works so well, I don;t think I will have to for a few more years,(I've got the itch REAL bad right now though!) so I came back the Asylum to lurk for a while.

I began searching & reading and I was reminded of all the good things I read in the past about HSU Research. I spoke to my friend and he said, "If that's what you think, lets do it". He ordered the Performance 2 speaker "package deal". I have to say that I had NO idea a 350.00 subwoofer could sound like that! I was VERY impressed with it's output volume, DB's and frequency range. So far we have the front 3 speakers hooked up (Ventriloquist turned on) and his old Rat-Shack rears are still in place until he runs new wires for the HSU's sometime this week.

WOW is all I have to say. I may even buy these speakers to replace the speakers in my bedroom, I was impressed that much! The STF-2 would be WAY to much in there so different sub will be in order.

Hey man if you're looking for something small but in your face, I'd recommend trying these speakers. They come with a complete 30 day money-back guarantee if they are not to your liking. I can almost gaurntee you'll keep them though!
