RE: Trouble shooting help appreciated

Does it do it continuously i.e. not just once after turn-on, but every so often on a fairly consistent basis? If it does, I'd get a can of cold spray and (carefully) "poke" around with it in the lamp driver circuitry first, then the main power supply. Don't forget to do any associated connectors, a poorish one could be getting hot and thus getting flakey too. This could be pretty time-consuming if it only goes dark for a few seconds, but at least could possibly isolate it to the board/assembly...which you could then order and replace yourself.

Or you could check online and see what others have found...this is also time-consuming but I have had great luck with it for my RPTV in the past (what looks awful *sometimes* has a simple solution)...you are almost certainly not the first to have that exact problem...try to search as generically (re model #) as possible. An Hitachi tech has likely seen it too, and there are some tech forums where techs help each other and often consumers too.
