Home Video Asylum

TVs, VCRs, DVD players, Home Theater systems and more.

I went with a display with the built-in speakers and a subwoofer output for the bedroom system.

attaching a decent 15" 1000W subwoofer gave me pretty decent sound (I'm often rattling the glass shelving just watching satellite or Blu-ray feeds) using HDMI audio directly from source to TV.

I do sometimes regret missing out on a chance to pick up a Yamaha pre-amp/amp with a couple of speakers at an estate sale, all of which were originally part of a TV setup.
