Thank you Tosh/ ami.
But If you had to choose but a few...What would you prefer among them?Merci dŽavance!
Patrick,Hmmmm....
I love Thunderbolt, but then again...how could I not. The Israeli film version of Entebbe is a lot more interesting than the Hollywood version with Yaphet Koto/Richard Dreyfuss...but it does have a few cheezy elements. It makes me weep, but I was always a softie for this type of film. Very famous Israeli cast.
Pick a Card is a dry Israeli comedy about a couple from Afula (small town) who try to make it big in the BIG city (Tel Aviv). The acting is excellent.
Kippur is an artsy anti-war film about the Yom Kippur War. It's okay, if you enjoy slow films with a lot of symbolism.
Passover Seder is an excellent drama about a very dysfunctional Sephardic family who have more than a few issues to deal with. The cast of this film is also the "who's who" of Israeli film.
Of the older films - Rabbi Fishke Goes to War, Hill 24, Repeat Dive, The Big Dig, The Fox in the Chicken Coop...all excellent slices of life in Israel.
Israeli films come in two varieties (well, the older films)...
War flicks
Comedies that somehow make fun of being in the army, getting out of the army, getting laid in the armyIt took me a few years to find all of these films in good shape.
BTW - on a non-Israeli film topic...I watched "Drunken Angel" last night. One of Kurosawa's first post-war films. Boring, but excellent character studies. It was also the first time he worked with my hero, Toshiro.

After going to Amazon and " Israeli Films " I choose " Left Luggage " as titles you cited was not easily to get.
Thats again!

Patrick,I think some swine at Canada Post stole the wine. No wonder I hate this country.
Amazon is useless for Israeli film.
Check out Tower Video in Europe (if it still exists) and www.imdb.com.
They might have links to places in France or Germany that carry the films.
