I'm about halfway through this movie and I find it totally devoid of entertainment value. I don't get the feeling that its over my head, or that I'm not getting it. Its just simply not interesting (to me.) I am tempted to give up at this point and retun it. Is there anything in the 2nd half of Closer that is worth sticking around for?
Follow Ups:
Couldn't agree with you more . . . I stayed for the whole movie. So did my wife . . . as soon as we got out in the car, we begin to talk about how each of us wanted to leave half-way through but were afraid to tell each other for fear of ruining the movie for each one of us. I know that is awkward English . . . but you get the point.
that it's size mirrors her cup size.
This cast is sooooooooo un-talented. Jude Law continues to show he can't pick a script for a damn.
I could never stand Jude Law, and this film cemented it. I'll give him credit for being a good looking guy.... but just terrible acting on his part. I'm afraid that's as good as it gets. He's a lightweight. And I haven't seen enough of Portman to make any definitive comments on her acting skills. Although I thought Garden State wasn't a real good movie, Portman was convincing in that role. But in Closer, she was not. She has a pretty face though, which seems to account for a lot in Hollywood.
See the link and previous threads- agree with you: boring, boorish and complete waste of time.
