BTW, sorry about hijacking your recommendation, but this vendor (DVDGO) is one of the few sources, if not the only source, for a Murnau title I highly recommend, FAUST, and you've provided the perfect segue.Control+C then Control+V this link in the address bar or enter Faust into DVDGO's search engine (i.e., after scrutinizing the information I've linked further down):
http://www.dvdgo.com/product.asp?catgid=190&list=156&prodid=3812&typeproduct=1&dvd=Fausto
Even though there ar minor problems with this restoration, you can clearly see from the DVDBeaver link below the vast improvement of this release when compared with other versions currently available. The caveats:
1. slightly speeded-up PAL transfer; not really that noticeably speeded-up (about 4%), but almost 10 minutes over the course of the film.
2. choice of music doesn't do justice to this great film.
3. no english translation option.
BTW, you'll need a multi-region capable player to view this, but it is WELL worth it in spite of the minor frustrations I have with this version. This is an eye popping film by one of the cinema's greatest Directors in a beautiful transfer; take my word for it, this version would be a prized trophy in just about any serious film fan's collection!
Cheers,
AuPh
