In our previous discussion we pretty much identified one titan composer doing music for films - Prokofiev. It turns out we forgot Dmitry Shostakovich, one of the greatest 20th century composers, who also wrote music to many, many films.
The most known of them is of course the Maxim Trilogy, and, of course... the Battleship Potemkin (reissue). His filmography includes almost 100 titles.

...choral (and orchestra) suites of his Roman triligy. Another late Master is Eric Wolgang Korngold, who wrote much BEAUTIFUL music of both types.A current fave is John Williams, altho his film music is so popular his classical stuff gets little play.
The more I finish to grow up, the more I like what this composer did. Malcom Arnold did also a good job, as I check " Hobson´s Choice " again yesterday I thought that the music was flamboyent.
Have you seen this film? It is a a gem.
Charles Laughton is so good in it, a pleasure. The others too BTW.
A must
..in Hobson's Choice & Fawlty Towers?
She was great in that series...
"I know....I know...., yeees, I know."
Brenda De Banzie who later had some parts in Hitch´s films is the woman I admire here.
