Konazawa (sp ?) and we'll probably visit there since it now sports a spectacularly designed museum.
Follow Ups:
about 6-7 miles from Shinjuku
It's a very popular place for shopping and lots of parks too
Your wife would likely have lived in Kanazawa which is a bit more countryside; just had a friend move there to escape the Tokyo ratrace, he says you can drop one on the "0's" off the cost of living, and I can believe that
There are indeed some spectacular museums, the Honda collection at Motegi has to be seen to be believed, the Osamu Tezuka Manga (cartoon) museum in Osaka, dedicated to the father of Japanese manga is quite something too
You'd enjoy your visit, Japan's very different!Grins
4-yr. old matures a bit more. That long flight currently would be hell.
Yeah, she lived in KAnazawa and says it's a very old city, very historical. You should check out the new museum there: it prominently was featured in several architectural zines.
Oh, she says Kanazawa was MUCH cheaper than Tokyo when she lived there, too...
