The first film (1997) by Jonathon Nossiter tells the story of Oliver (David Suchet), an out of work IBM exec now living in a homeless shelter in Queens and Madeline (Lisa Harrow) a theatre actress who crosses him one Sunday and takes him for Matthew D. a famous director.
Oliver plays the deception and the film follows their day.
The dialogue is fascinating and the actors completely convincing, including some nice second roles and with some wonderful shots of Queens in winter.
In all, quite a cerebral but totally human US independant film and well recommended for a change of pace.
