His part was what made the movie good. But think of another actor reciting those same lines, but less phlegmatically. Tom Cruise would have done far better, (think how much more chilling and convincing he was in Collateral) Cage cannot even stand well, he looks nervous, not in his skin, He recites lines like he is reading them for the first time off of que cards. The scene in the shower had no eroticism, it looked like fistfight. Were it not for the great script, and beautiful cinematography, this move would have stunk. Next to Robin Williams, Cage is the worst actor in Hollywood. Think how well Paul Giamotti could have carried off that role.

Cage was excellent! Watched the movie twice on my flight from Europe. Just top make sure.
..russian looking of american actors!
I don't think Nicholas is up there with the very best but he certainly is a GREAT actor. I agree he could have done better in L.O.W but I still find his style captivating and I always enjoy his movies.Cheers !

Vampire's Kiss (OK, so his Boston accent stunk), Leaving Las Vegas (Serious shit done well), Honeymoon In Vegas (THE actor for that role), Kiss Of Death (His Junior was full of evil energy), Moonstruck (made me pine for the OPERA), Matchstick Men (Made sorry ass con man sympathetic), Face Off (One sorry ass sumbitch), and City Of Angels (Broke yer heart). I'm not saying hes Gene Hackman or anything like that, but hes pulled off a number of good roles and in some, I think he would be THE defining actor in them.

...in "Vampires Kiss"! His "California accent Vampire" would make any surfer Dude proud.
"Matchstick Men", "Adaption" being my favorite Cage roles. He does seem to be getting better with age. Sometimes I wish he was a little less prolific!

I had the unique opportunity to watch tapes of him working out how the two brothers would carry themselves... body language, inflection etc.It was amazing to see the transformation from him to them and from one of them to the other. He definitely embodied the characters.
