Just thought I'd share a postive experience with a company I took a chance on (sort of).Recently discovered ebay. $$$ later, I have acquired an ADA 6.1 processor (to ad a 6th channel to my 5.1 setup), a Parasound 2 stereo amp (for biamping my 6th speaker), and, the most expensive, a Triad InRoom Gold subwoofer. Originally retailed for $1,500. I acquired it up for $500.
I have never purchased anything from this company, but had seen a few reviewes indicating they made some good, but expensive equipment. Unfortunately, UPS damaged the item. They CRUSHED the corners. I sent it to Triad for repairs. The sub was two years old, no longer in production, and I didn't even buy it from Triad (or an authorized rep). But they did an amazing repair job, and even sent me instructions on how to "dial in" the sub. And they only charged me $200 for the repairs.
I have not seen much feedback on Triad at this, or other AV web sites. So I thought I'd share my very positive experience with them. Even though I was not a Triad customer, they gave me great customer service. Highly recommended.
Follow Ups:
I think Triad stopped making free-standing speakers and subwoofers years ago. They now sell in-wall speakers and subs only. I heard a 2-channel, free-standing sub/sat system from Triad years ago and I recall being very impressed. They have a great rep as a user-friendly company. If I needed in-wall speakers (thank goodness I don't), I would have Triad on my short list.
