I want to add three more cable outlets in the basement. Theres a three way splitter coming off the main cable that comes into the house, with each one running to its location. I was thinking of tapping into each one with a female connector and a two way splitter. How much will this take away from the picture quality if any?
Follow Ups:
This will be dependent on how much signal is coming into the three-way splitter. On most three-way splitter, one port losses 3.5 db and 7 db on the other 2. If you have good signal going into the splitter, I would suggest splicing into the 3.5 db port. If you think you dont have enough signal, then I would follow the advise from the previous post.
The answer to your problem.
Pickup an 8 way powered splitter. I'll get back with the make and model number later. This unit provides a slight gain to each split instead of the usuall loss. When Cablevision came to my house to install their new Digital system they told me right off that it wouldn't work with aftermarket splitters. Well imagine the suprise when the installer found out that I had the first powered splitter
he ever saw that worked with there digital network.
I'll get you the imfo later.
