  Might be a powerbuy brewing over there. I'm very interested to see this set when it comes out. (I love PixelPlus for SD on my current Philips HDTV.)

  I got my 34" direct view Philips through an online discounter dealing in refurbs. Saved around $1000 on a $2500 set and had a full factory warranty. It's been a perfect set. Dounbt this source will get the 44PL9773 anytime soon, plus I'm not sure I'd go that route with a new technology like LCoS.

    I contacted one vendor on the Internet (Onecell I believe) and they said the Philips 44PL9773 had been nixed because of technical problems. I was trying to find out if that was true. I imagine if there is some truth to it, then it probably means it will be a very, very long time before it comes to market.

      i contacted philips with the same question. they now are indicating a december (didn't specify year, is that good or bad) ship date.
