Who makes the best low-end 42" plasma EDTV?????

As prices edge towards the mid-2,000 point, I'm getting ready to make my move. I don't know that I'm willing to wait for Panasonic to hit that price point, however (clearly the best EDTV that I've seen; love that 3000:1 contrast ratio).
So what's the best low end set?? Gateway, Samsung, Daewoo, ViewSonic?? How about the Akai at Costco?

I bought a left over Panasonic from Tweeter for 3000.00. They have simply the best edtv available. The Panasonic has only a 12% less picture quality the HDTV provding you a feeding the hdtv signal. But still for 3000 to 4000 dollars less than a hdtv you cant beat. Plus there is no such thing as hidef dvd's, all dvd's are 480p format.

The NEC is awesome and it runs around $2750.

  Besides, why on earth would anybody want to pay extra for a NTSC tuner (if you're using sat or cable), of some shitty side speakers (if you've a good HT audio system already.
