A salesman at a local shop told me that Sony is going to release a new 16x9, 34" Digital TV very soon. He guessed that the price point is about $4k. That's all he knew. Anyone know any more on this??Thanks,
Jim E
Follow Ups:
I don't know about the Sony, but Toshiba has had a gorgeous 16x9 34" true flat screen for some time. Toshiba's Cinema Series sets are every bit the TV that Sony's are, maybe better (most of the guys I know in the industry picked Toshiba over Sony for their home). However, having considered the Toshiba, I will say that 16x9 at this size looks quite small and unimpressive. It's only slightly larger than a 16x9 with bars on a 36" 4:3 display. And 4:3 stuff gets tiny in 4:3 mode or mangled pretty bad if you want to watch it full screen.
I believe WidescreenReview magazine had this information in their "Upcoming Products" section in the latest issue.
