the Panasonic 4k players are a huge step up from the other brands such as Sony.
an ideal model is the UB820-K
be sure to see the set-up tips from a famous youtuber named Vincent.
be sure to turn off "power savings" as it makes the image too light in the day time
streaming is good - real 4k blu rays look even better
be sure you use film maker mode
Follow Ups:
and then it lost its "smart functions" and streaming. It became a straight-up, old tyme DVD player. They discontinued the 1100 ES and there might have been a good reason for it.I got the 1100 ES because I couldn't stop fiddling with all the controls on my Panny 820. There were so many adjustments I couldn't keep my OCD fingers off the remote.
Congrats on having the biggest weiner with the 77-incher.

Just before you couldn't buy them from Oppo anymore.
Great player and I could sell it on ePay for 4X the price, but why would I?

Something about the construction seemed cheap, but the $500 price meant that I wouldn't lose too much if it eventually conked out. Nevertheless, mine is still operating to this day - I account for that by the fact that I always ignore all the nag-messages telling me to upgrade my firmware. My main reason for getting it was that it seems to play every silver disc format known to man and also supports Dolby Atmos.
Regarding wiener size, Costco has a surprisingly large number of 85-inch TV's, but not in LG's G3 series - so I had to settle. ;-)
not to dip into more inches than we could bear.
I had that Sony also ,,,,, the Panasonic blows it out of the water
look it up on line
