This is a big-budget production spinning modern day terrorism that is both entertaining and enlightening as to how it works. It will remind you of "Traffic" or "Flight 93" with its parallel plot lines that cross over each other from time to time but it is far more cinematic in its storytelling.
Cheadle plays a young man raised as a Muslim in Yemen who witnesses his father's car-bombing when he was young. He remains a devout Muslim but is raised in the USA becoming a Special Forces trooper who fights in Afghanistan and Bosnia. He decides to leave the service in Europe and retrace his roots which lead him to being taken in by a terrorist cell.
The cast is excellent with Guy Pearce, Jeff Daniels, and many other recognizable faces delivering a fast-paced action story. The film shows the classic non-cooperation between agencies and their penchant from keeping each other in the dark.
Solid four outta five. IMO, the best so far.

...after seeing the trailer numerous times.
But the two reviews i read gave it a "D" and a "C", so I marked it as a DVD pick.
Let's see - good action flicks so far this year:
Dark Knight
Iron Man
Wanted
I see Traitor as reality-based unlike what you listed. Traitor isn't necessarily an "entertainment" film.
a by-the-numbers terrorism movie that moves along pretty well, but filled with plot absurdities and very obvious would-be twists. The interactions between terrorists and police seemed about as believable as an episode of "24."

and I did get involved with this movie as it went along...but I did not think the story itself made much sense...in terms of current event type movies, I was much more involved with Stop Loss earlier this year. Not a classic in any sense, but the characters were far more compelling.
The movie was worth it just for that feeling.
