L'avventura (1960), La notte (1961) and L'eclisse (1962) I have as a box set; I've always enjoyed Italian cinema + I wonder what happened to their film industry which seemed really prolific in the 1960's + 70's....

  Excellent piece; quite a few new names and titles to investigate.
  
  Just based on the early dramas mentioned, you could have a week-long film festival.

      Yes an excellent portrait of Italian film. Not complete but excellent.
