A 1999 WGBH documentary that still comes to mind ten years later.
Time line of events linked.

'Endurance...' (Lansing). Talk about 'men were men'. All came home. Just...amazing.

There are several different versions, of varying length, chronicling Shackleton's Expedition. The best is entitled "The Endurance: Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition," and runs for 97 minutes (see link below). Avoid the much shorter, truncated version that was shown in IMAX theaters and is only 45 minutes long.
This is one of my favorite documentaries, and I think one of the (if not greatest) struggles for survival against almost insurmountable odds.

How does it compare to Kenneth īs Version?
Thanks.
I never actually watched the dramatization starring Kenneth Branagh.
The pure documentary was so riveting that I didn't feel the need to watch the dramatization.
Be that as it may, the drama has been well received, and I ought to give it a second chance. Thanks for bringing it up.
The Kenneth DVD also has a long documentation.
When you have saw it let me know, what you think of the compared, by then, two.
Thanks!
