It is actually a serial movie on the AMC cable channel, and if you were a fan of the "Breaking Bad"series, then this is a prequel you should make an effort to get into. Its based on the life and antics of the drug lawyer, James McGill. Supposedly it is building into how he ended up as the guy defending pushers and dealers. He's both a freakin' idiot and a decent guy, doing right things for wrong reasons. Bob Odenkirk plays McGill.Already 3 episodes into this initial season, it features many of the "Bad" characters in their formative modes. It is hilarious almost to the point of laughter, but as in "Bad", the outrageous situations contain an element of horror to pull you back.
The same director Vince Gillagan is conducting this mess, and it is terrific. Gilligan's use of dead space (time, actually) makes these vignette scenarios into masterpieces. The hang time in conversations is perfect. As a whole, television doesn't do much of that.

I was a little unsure during the first episode (SO much exposition!), but the second and third episodes were very entertaining. It's definitely a must see for my wife and me now (as well as for our 32-year-old kids, who call us to make sure we're watching. LOL!). I agree with the comments which have been made about the compelling artistic caliber of many of the shots and the sheer quality of the composition - you hardly ever see this on TV shows.
but I did watch the first 3 episodes, I find it uneven, good in parts bad in others, no way near "Breaking bad" The main guy just speaks to much.
I would give it a 6/10.
...so I have to dvr and watch later. I'm spoiled by other cable networks no commercial formats. Last year's "True Detective" on HBO was an event for Sunday nights. That being said (sorry, all), BCS is a fine show. It's the only show I'm really focused on. And so far, no gruesome violence. Who knows how long that will last? It's a winner.
Will be viewing shortly...now I am looking forward to it a little more...
Thanks

I just recently "discovered" AMC's Hell On Wheels and I've become a big fan. I realize that I'm 4 years behind the times but I don't watch much TV as I find the vast majority of it to be simply awful drek. And life is far too short to waste it on shitty TV shows...

Of the 4 series we look forward to each week (w/Americans, Justified, and Walking Dead), it tops the list.
