I saw it a number of years back. It was a darker edition. It got a push for Heath Ledger's performance and untimely death. Not a memorable film IMO.

I don't think he defined the Joker or earned an Oskie. He did good roles, yes, but his Joker did not knock my socks off at the time I saw it and he was alive.

  As mentioned this is a visually dark film. Ledger's makeup and dark cloths fits in well. I would give it some credit since it is a more edgy version of the joker.
