BTW I too have an Oppo 83 and love it. Have had several Blu-ray and HD DVD players in my system (all 1080P using a projector and big screen) and can't see difference in PQ among them. I bought it for its analog-MC-audio outputs and its ability to play all my hi-rez-audio discs, which it does VERY well.
(Maybe THIS year I'll finish those speakers!)

      ...and replace with a wire the large composite-electrolytic-and-small-film cap that acts as a high-pass filter for the MR and treble. (IOW, ALL the MR and treble flows thru and is contaminated by that cap.) Search for my posts in the planar-speaker Asylum for details.

      The pair, finished.
      
      In process.
      
      Drove the MR/treble with ASL Hurricanes in triode and the bassboxes with 2 channels of an Outlaw 770 filtered by a Dahlquist DQLP-1.
      
      The winged 8s worked just finely, but I finally tired of their treble hardness/edginess and built my own, those big ugly OBLAs.
