My Insignia BluRay player can make a hell of a racket when playing some DVDS. It seems as if the whole unit is shaking, in what I am guessing is an effort to track the DVD as the actuator shifts back and forth like a voice coil.
Is this a problem with the disc? It happens consistently on some. Or is it a problem with the player?
It's the machine, I've had several DVD and Blu-ray players with an extensive disc collection and have never had that happen. You might try something like the Sony 590, it's not expensive and works well, also loaded with features.
Glad to here everything worked out.
I ended up buying the Sony -- except the replacement model, the s590 was last years' version. What a difference a few years makes -- I had two video streaming choices with my old blu-ray, about a hundred with the Sony. And so far, no vibrations, and disks that my old player reported as 'no disk' -- work perfectly.
My old Yamaha S1500 dvd player did that occasionally. I got rid of it for many reasons including that.
