  It should get more active when OLED and/or Quantum Dot (or some new technology - SED/FED?) are fully sorted out and can out perform plasmas at a reasonable price.

    'Reasonable price' is the key words here. When we can get plasma performance at plasma prices, then I will be interested. So far, my 8 year old Panasonic 50" still looks great.

      and it's got a light years better picture than my 5yr old mid end Sony 55". Not even close. I look forward to the Sony dying, so I can replace it with something clearly better. Not so the Panny.

        The Panasonic plasmas had to be the best bang for the buck sets available. Even though mine is an old model, I still marvel at the color fidelity, and the great picture quality. Plasmas were (are) for people that value image quality.
