 Neeson delivers with his Irish-accented take as Frank Drebin's son. His natural acting style fits the role quite handily as he deadpans through his lines as deftly as Leslie Nielsen. Seeing this revival calls into question how any of the actors kept a straight face. But they do!

The very first scene has a plot device that will go over the heads of half the mainstream audience. Careful.

Don't forget, this is a goofy, fun, summer movie, not an Oscar-chaser. If 'Hamlet' is your kind of entertainment you might select another film to see.

 You're right - I should have selected Hamlet! ;-) But, to be sure, people in the theater were laughing at the mostly lame and overdone scenes. I guess I've become more curmudgeonly in my old age!

In fact, for the first time ever, I fell asleep for a little bit in the middle, right in the theater - it was so half-baked. However, it was NOT as lame as the zillions of previews they showed before it even started. Jeezuz! O tempora, o mores!

OTOH, Ms CfL liked it just a bit better than I did - of course, she's 4.25 years younger than I am. Just give her time!

 formula the originals used that caused the audience to laugh themselves silly. Loosen up and enjoy yer platinum years. 'The Naked Gun' beats the crap out of a nightly dose of PBS News. There needs to be more silly movies in circulation to provide brief respites from our reality.

Maybe you should have watched it on cable with some wine and wacky for maximum effect.

 The funny thing was that, the day before we saw the new Naked Gun, we watched the original Naked Gun on Amazon. I used to think it (the original) was very funny, but that latest viewing just didn't do it for me.

I guess it's just me getting old and cranky! ;-)

OTOH, the early Woody Allen movies have the same kind of very broad (sometimes overly broad) humor, and, for me, they've kept their appeal better.

My favorite comedy movie is "Being There" with Peter Sellars.
