Based on a true story, this is another film directed by Clint Eastwood. I had no info on it and was pleasantly surprised. Good character acting. I am guessing they juiced up a few characters like the lawyer and woman who broke the story to make the movie more interesting.
Available on disc through Netflix.

Clint turned 90 this week!

to think, I knew him back when he was Rowdy Yates

maybe we'll get a few more films out of him before ...

well, anyway, I liked Play Misty For Me ...

good first effort, and a surprise coming from him I'd say

be well,

and, IMO, Sam Rockwell got slighted. It's appropriate to fry the FBI.

Sam Rockwell along with Adam Driver are two of the BEST actors.., posted on June 3, 2020 at 08:25:32

I have not seen Rockwell's performace. I thought Bates was convincing. The best performance was that of the actor who played Jewell IMO.

I have not seen him do anything deserving that praise. Seems he is in just about every film these days. Hollywood has a history of doing that with actors.

Marriage Story, The Report, Logan Lucky, Inside Llewyn Davis, Silence, Paterson or While We're Young? If not, I would suggest that you check them out...Sam Rockwell IMO was absolutely robbed of an Emmy award. He MADE Fosse / Verdon what it was. Not that Michelle Williams didn't deserve to win..she was good too.

I have seen a few of his films. L. Lucky, Silence, Blackklansman, Star Wars. I have been underwhemlmed by those performances.
I would place a whole bunch of male actors still working way ahead of him.

Every article I've read about him makes a huge deal about his Marine service. I wonder if Marines rate their comrades by their theater experience?

And yes, I've seen a bunch of films he appeared in...

How did you miss Rockwell when he was a principal in the film? One must remove his blinders ever so often. 8^)

I'm usually not the biggest Clint Eastwood fan, I think most of his stuff has a dry clinical quality but this , posted on June 6, 2020 at 09:23:09

one is very good. I think the guy who played Jewell was very convincing with a heartfelt performance.

I first saw him in a few comedies and I thought "this is where he belongs". I nearly fell out when he appeared in Star Wars and more serious films. He can do it but for me, his appearance always stands out as a slight distraction.
